Any Home Bakers Here?

Thank you, @ronott1 ! I have such a hankering for good bread! we've been eating store bought for too long, just never make the time to bake anymore.

Looks like I will be making baguettes this weekend! Excited to try this recipe!
I make it and freeze most of it and then bring it out for dinners that go with bread.

Last weekend I baked the extra sour french bread recipe. It makes two large round loafs. We will have a quarter of one of them tonight with breaded pork cutlets. I also need to use up more yellow squash...We have a lot of it from the garden!

My working life I never even thought of such things but having to surrender 5 years ago I have been able to take the time to learn do it right and am having a great time baking

I have always baked bread like this. My Mom made 6 loaves a week and I took that over in high school. There were 6 in the family. To this day I do not really like store bread

This weekend I will bake three loaves of sandwich bread and probably the baguettes. I plan on making flour from hard red wheat this time

I would like this recipe....please Aria
loaf bread makes three loaves of bread:

3 Cups water at 105 degrees
2 or 3 packets of yeast(I use a tablespoon bulk from costco)
1\4 C oil(Avacado is great or melted butter)
1\4 C honey or molasses
2 eggs
1Tablespoon of Salt
About 8 cups of flour. Half to 3\4 whole wheat flour of choice. I have a flour mill and mill hard red wheat, spelt, and etc.

Proof yeast in water for 5 minutes by sprinkling over top
Add oil, sweetener, eggs and salt. Stir to dissolve and mix ingredients. Add about 5 C of flour and mix with a wooden spoon.

Kneed in enough flour to make a stiff dough. I use a kitchenaid mixer and do not keep track of how much flour goes into it but would put it at about 8 or so cups. Let rise for an hour or until dough has doubled.
Portion into three balls and shape into loaf pans. Let rise for another hour and then bake in a 350 degree oven for 20 to 25 minutes. Bread is done when internal temperature is 195 to 205 degrees F.

Just found this thread....SUPER. I make my own bread and cookies.
Never tried Sourdough. Do NOT have a recipe for Starter. Sounds
complicated to me. Simple starter directions needed. HELP.Aria
