Have you tested it to see if that's the problem?

How big of a jar can you get at Costco? I can only find the little jars around here. I do keep it in the fridge after opening but use it up pretty fast anyway. We'd have to drive about 90 minutes to get to a Costco but might be worth it if we had to pick up other stuff too.
Costco in Woodland sells the 32oz size of Red Star instant yeast. It is in a foil container. It is good yeast!

I used to be a little intimidated by yeast bread recipes too until I came across this gem:

http://www.mymundaneandmiraculouslife.com/foodie-fridays-easy-peesy-french-bread/

It is so easy, much quicker than many bread recipes, and absolutely delicious. I made this often; or I did when we lived up north. I haven't much wanted to turn on the oven lately. The days are getting cooler though and I'm sure I'll make this bread recipe soon.

I just pulled a loaf of your Easy Peesy French Bread out of the oven. It smells wonderful. I added some Italian seasoning and garlic powder to it. As soon as it cools a bit, DH and I are digging in!

Hope you liked it!

It's very good, and so easy to make! DH has already eaten 1/3 of the loaf, lol. We both liked the herbs and garlic in it...I think next time I make it, I'll add those same two things and a minute or two before it's done, I'll put some shredded cheese on it.

Thanks for sharing the recipe @KatharinetheGr8 , it gets a

from me!

So glad it turned out! I love making fresh bread, and an easy recipe like that makes it a lot more reasonable to make it frequently.

I really enjoy the whole process of making bread and it's nice to know exactly what's in it. With the store bought stuff, you have to wonder.
