Any Home Bakers Here?

Just finished making some pumpkin bread I used my better Homes recipie, should have thought to look here first. I love pumpkin bread....And today is a good day for baking.

How was the BH pumpkin bread? You'll have to give us a review!

The recipe I posted is an old family favorite and we've always been very pleased with it. Whenever I would go to CO to visit my parents, I always had to take at least 3 loaves. And it's easy enough (and good enough) to make all year round.

Maybe a 3 out of 5. DH is eating it, so it isn't bad. But I prefer mine more moist, this is a bit crumbly. the recipe is similar to yours except BH added more sugar and oil. BH also used nutmeg instead of cloves, I cannot stand nutmeg so just skipped it, I had considered replacing with cloves.
I think I should have added more pumpkin.

The next time you want to make pumpkin bread, try the recipe I posted. There's nothing dry about that loaf and it makes the kitchen smell like heaven!

It is probably too late now but the next time you end up with bread to give away, try baking them in empty cans. Like the cans you buy green beans in or baked beans. bake them as normal and end up having an unusual gift to give.

Too funny! Spread the cheer!

Lol i had planned on giving a loaf to his grandparents now i have even more for others. Lol not so sadly its a bad habit of mine not to look at how much a recipe makes lol i tend to over bake if its for multiple loafs lol need to pay more attention.

I've used those little mini-loaf pans before to make several small loaves from one recipe of the pumpkin bread. The mini-loaves are a nice give away.

And you can freeze the bread too. It gets even more moist when it's thawed but still very tasty!
