Any Home Bakers Here?

You know I would have been one of Those customers....I like it HOT!!!.....Phil

The younger guys were always shocked when they found out I had tasted them, lol. I figured if I was going to sell them, I should try them first. So I did...once!

We sold them whole, crushed and GP salt. Had some regulars that would stock up on all we had every time they came to town. It was sort of fun hearing their stories

Ok in a debate with my mother she thinks it takes thirty pound turkey and a 15 pound ham to feed six adults (this year will be seven adults), two teens (one boy one girl neither eat much that i have ever seen) and a two year old. I think she crazy i say that a 9 pound ham and a 12 pound turkey with all the sides is more then enough. What do yall think?

Just tell your mom the doctor says you can't lift that much weight due to your condition. 21 pounds of meat for 7-10 people should be ample, especially with all the sides.

Me and my wife are going to the American Legion for Thanksgiving this year. No one here too cook for. So a bunch of others like us are all getting together and having a little thing there this year. I believe most of the food is being donated too. Living in a small town had its plusses. I know the bible camp here in town also puts on a supper every year too. I never thought I'd be one of those people who wouldn't put on a big thanksgiving dinner...I miss my kids...my son wanted us to come down for dinner but logistically wasn't going to work....oh well...welcome to old age.....

Boys and their toys. We have the hardest time getting rid of ribs. What is your recipie? We have beef ribs, and hubby told me if I wanted to start feeding the animals ribs he would be ok with that...Seems a waste, but when I have tried to cook them they did not go over well.

Back when I was young and first on my own my family was all out of state so I went out to eat Thanksgiving dinner by myself. One of the worst dining memories ever.

Cook dinner at home, a manageable dinner, and be glad just to be all together. Really, the meal is secondary to the chance to spend time together.

Not a toy OFW that was my livelyhood. There is more money there than I spent on my house. This pic is me hauling it home after I retired..
My Ribs are simple...(I've never really done beef ribs though,I think I'll try them)
These were already trimmed nicely so I just cut a shallow cut between the bones on the back side.
Then on the backside I rubbed a little light brown sugar....and paprika.
flipped them over..sprinkle light brown sugar, paprika, Frank's red hot season salt (regular season salt with a little cayenne would work), course ground black pepper, garlic powder and thyme.
NOT A LOT OF ANY OF THESE JUST ENOUGH TO GET A NICE LIGHT EVEN RUB.
Then I grilled them bone side down first.
And I finished then off with Sweet Baby Rays chipotle honey BBQ sauce.
Usually I lightly smoke them but I was pressed for time.
Plus we have homemade bbq sauce but that chipotle honey sounded good yesterday.

Oh I am well aware of the money. Tools, good tools are very expensive.
I never knew to slice into the meat, does that help tenderize it? I do not have a smoker, but might try this on a nice day.

@OrganicFarmWife I also slice my beef ribs then season them lightly with Tony chachero's creole seasoning, or any other seasoning that i want, or just salt & black pepper, i grill them then wrap them in foil (you can add any sauce at this point, i like mine without BBQ sauce) and either finish off in the oven to get the falling off the bone or cover them on the grill for an extra 30-45 minutes.

now i want some been awhile since I made some.
