Any Home Bakers Here?

Totally not baking, but tomorrow I think I will try making paper with the daycare kids. It looks simple enough and if the first attempt goes well, we will do it a few more times over the next two weeks as Valentine's Day gifts!

I will let you all know. It sounds pretty easy. Tare up old papers, like newspapers and tissue paper and junk mail, soak in water and put in blender. Squeeze out water and press on a screen trying to press out any excess water, flip onto a towel and let sit to dry for about a day. Almost sounds too easy. Lol. So if it turns out well, we will be doing it again! However, even if it doesn't go as planned, I know they will all love tarring up the paper and squeezing out the water

DH bought a bag of mini chocolates - wiped out half a bag last nite, LOL. So maybe baking would be healthier

Recent posts made me start craving cinnamon rolls with orange icing....may have to do those this weekend.

I will get some pictures with my son, and the paper when it's done. Obviously I can't post pictures with my daycare littles, but I know they will just love it! I am hoping all goes well because it should be raining all next week too and this would be so much fun to do and a great Valentine's Day gift! We have to make enough for all the parents and Gabe's teacher and bus driver, so that means lots of paper needs to be tarred up and I have lots of little monsters who would be thrilled to help me with that

Ok, it's cinnamon rolls, no time today - DH will need oven to cook dinner ( in GA AKA supper).
Hope to get them baked tomorrow or Saturday and will report.

And use orange icing on top. Will let you know how they turn out.

My sister is the master baker of our house. LOL. (The only time I'm allowed to bake is when she's not home. ) Right now she's making some pate a choux (I'm hoping I spelled that correctly) filled with lemon pastry cream. Her dream is to go to pastry school after she graduates and then open a bakery or cupcakery.

, don't think I have seen you on this thread. Had to look that one up -- wish you could steal some recipes and share

I love eclairs, and think they are the same pastry?

Hope your sister gets to realize her dream.
