Any Home Bakers Here?

We started by wanting to do as much 'homemade' as possible and baking is my thing so the buns seemed right. Well, things kind of evolved and grew. Now we have quite a number of regulars and trust me, they would notice. We get people in that come primarily for a certain non-meat item (like the buns or the coleslaw or the potato salad, etc.). And there isn't another bbq place around so the smoked meats are going well.

Here's what we make ourselves (besides smoking all the meat):
Buns
Coleslaw
Potato salad
Beans
Mac & cheese
BBQ sauces
Pizza dough (for our smokehouse pizzas)
Desserts
Tea (sweet & unsweet) from loose leaf tea
Lemonade
Ranch dressing
Corn bread

Probably left off a thing or two, but that is a pretty good picture of what I spend my days working on :D

No wonder you have to work so hard :)

4 cups of sour cream
oh, that's probably why I like it. Love sour cream. It's one of those things I like, but have never really had any idea as to what is in it.
So i thought maybe if it is out on the counter for me to see i will remember. Lol!
Stick a cute baby picture on the jar, then you won't forget (hopefully).
:D

Better yet, put your avatar photo on it. You'll not only remember, but you'll smile every time you visit the fridge.

Hahaa! That THING follows his maman EVERYWHERE she goes.... and it always amazes us how this 150 pound muppet can be all stealthy and steal stuff right beside you and you not even notice. Ugh! And the counter surfin! Our home was my grannyB's amd she was a tinny lady so had her husband lower the countertops... yea... just perfect for a hound dog to reach all the way back... Oh my that. If there is ANY fresh fruit or veggie out i am SURE told lose some... esp greenie beanies..... those i lose half at least.

He is a thing this mornin... i was cuttin squash for sunday dinner... walked away for a second and lost a whole squash! The brat.

Sour cream is fermented cream.

Found a recipe for making sour cream at home. I've never tried it so can't vouch for how this turns out but might be fun to try:
homemade-sour-cream

I was off work yesterday but will try to remember to post that Ranch dressing recipe today.

That recipe is similar to the Crème Fraiche recipe I use. I make Crème Fraiche on occasion, I like it better than sour cream. I would make it more often but DH likes sour cream better because it is not as tangy.
I will make homemade yogurt one of these days...
