Any Home Bakers Here?

Ron I made a copy of your cookies. I will decrease the butter, I never use corn syrup...will sub maple syrup and just got back from the store....I have NO apricots in the house, eat them all....will use cherries or wait until I get apricots. They sound more like a cookie
my husband would enjoy. GLAD to have some NEW cookie recipes
to try. We always want something new. That is us. Regards, Aria

The recipe calls for golden syrup. Dark corn syrup is suggested as a substitute. It seems like honey is a better substitute though. This is from a wiki:

Golden syrup or light treacle is a thick, amber-coloured form of inverted sugar syrup made in the process of refining sugar cane or sugar beet juice into sugar, or by treatment of a sugar solution with acid. It is used in a variety of baking recipes and desserts. It has an appearance similar to honey and is often used as a substitute where honey is unavailable or prohibitively expensive. Many vegans also use it as a honey substitute.

It is not to be confused with amber corn syrup or amber molasses. Regular molasses, or dark treacle, is both richer in colour and has a strong, distinctive flavour.

It will be a great weekend for baking here. We finally have a wet weather pattern

@rjohns39 Where have you gone? I thought you were on here...?

I haven't done much baking recently.
But, I will be making 2 pies tomorrow! :D

What kinds of pie are you baking tomorrow? It's been a long time, maybe too long, since I baked a pie. Sounds like a good idea.
