Any Home Bakers Here?

What a coincidence...we were talking parchment paper & silicone yesterday and this article came up on MSN:

I thought they were pretty much interchangeable but guess it's best to choose one over the other depending on what you're baking.

DUTCH OVEN DINNER ROLLS
(makes 12 rolls)

Dough:
3 Cups AP flour
1/4 Cups Buttermilk powder
2 Tab Non-Diastatic malt powder
1 1/4 tsp salt
1 Cup warm water
4 Tab soft unsalted butter
2 tsp instant yeast

Topping:
4 Tab unsalted butter, divided

Dough:
1. Combine all ingredients and mix by hand, mixer or bread machine to make a soft, smooth dough.
2. Transfer dough to lightly greased bowl, cover and let rise until almost doubled (about 90 minutes).

Topping:
While dough is rising, set a 4-5 quart Dutch oven over medium-low heat. Add 3 Tab of butter to the pot and heat until melted. Remove the pot from the burner and set aside.

Transfer the dough to a very lightly floured work surface. Divide into 12 pieces and shape each piece into a smooth ball.

Place rolls into the Dutch oven on top of the melted butter. Put the lid on and let the rolls rise until they tightly fill the pot (45-60 minutes).

Towards the end of the rising time, preheat the oven to 400*.

Transfer the covered pot to the oven, and bake the rolls for 15 minutes. Remove the lid and bake the rolls an additional 8-10 minutes, until golden brown.

Remove the pot from the oven, set it on a rack to cool. Melt the remaining 1 Tab of butter and brush over the warm rolls in the pot.

Serve immediately. Or remove the warm rolls from the pot, place on a rack to cool and serve at room temperature.

Was happy to find a cookie cutter for mini gingerbread house at a dollar store! It included a very good recipe on the back. Next time they will be less messy, and fancier. First time making cookie houses!

Beautiful and very nicely packaged. I picked up that cookie cutter and put it back at Dollar General ...figured I have enough, I am a cookie cutter hoarder!
Trying to upload:
Gorgeous!
I forgot to take my camera to my mom's house tonight to get a good picture of the finished quilt. It looks wonderful though and the poults match it perfect! My daughter's school ended up on lockdown and had us all in a panic for a couple hours so the camera totally slipped my mind.
What happened? Scary stuff!!

I got most of my cookies frosted last night. I saved some for us but haven’t frosted them yet. These I will give away to friends and people I clean for. Have a great day all.

Thanks Debby... self taught. I got my mom’s old Betty Crocker cookbook and used the icing recipe out of there. I can’t remember where the cookie recipe come from.

Rats, self-taught. Here I was thinking I could blame my lack of skill to not being in the right class :p

I have an oldie Betty Crocker cookbook too. That thing must be over 40 years old now but there are still some of my favorite recipes in it.

everyone is safe ?

I hope all was well with the situation

What happened? Scary stuff!!

Everyone is fine and accounted for but they were held an extra 2 hours and 20 minutes. Apparently, some guy with dreadlocks and a trench coat got in to the school and barricaded himself in a bathroom but managed to get out before the police got there. They searched the entire school and didn't find him anywhere. The school did a great job with keeping everyone safe and mostly calm. That's just not something that happens around here and is about the most terrifying and helpless feeling. The only reason that I knew what was going on was another mother heard me asking about the elementary school when I was picking my son up from the middle school. The school wouldn't say more than they're on a precautionary lockdown but this other mother knew someone at the police station and filled me in. Very scary. I'm just thankful that everyone was ok.
