This is the recipe I like when we have them (which isn't nearly often enough): #10
They really do taste like Cinnabon rolls to me!
Same recipe. I did expect more of a rise on the second, but vast majority was in the oven. I've never worked with that kind of dough before and was pretty convinced when I put them in, they'd be a flop, but they surprised me.

A nice surprise :D Sweet dough is different from bread dough, that's for sure.

Did your wife enjoy them? (I'm betting she did!)

Back before I had to give up cinnamon rolls, they did a major raise in the oven.
 
Speaking of sweet doughs...does anyone here make kolaches?

My grandma used to make them but she never wrote down any recipes and the ones I've found online don't turn out like hers. Grandma's kolaches were about 4" around and she'd put different types of fruit filling in the centers, like cherry or poppy seed. They looked sort of like these (internet picture):
