@Artichoke Lover
DH has a discussion with me every time I make sugar cookies.
To a lot of people and even in the stores, a sugar cookie is rolled out, cut into shapes and frosted with super sweet frosting. At our house, a sugar cookie is a cookie with a super crumbly texture that melts in your mouth. You form the cold cookie dough into a ball, roll it in sugar and flatten it before baking.
By the way, we love both the sugar cookie and the cut-outs at our house. :lau
My mom made some like that, they were called sugar jumbles. She flattened them with a crystal sugarbowl that had a starburst pattern on the bottom.

Had some cream left from the cake so made these cream biscuits to use it up. I melted a spoon of butter, added a little icing sugar to the melted butter and dribbled it on before baking.
