Thanks for the recipe!

You could use baking soda but it would have a different crumb. They are having you use yeast to speed up the rise. This is more important with young starters as the sourdough discard will not recover as fast as with an older starter, like the oregon starter I send people.

Just use the discard and add half to double the rise times.
Ok I used discard straight from the frige starter with this recipe minus the yeast and 5 cups flour.
It was a wet dough but coming away from the sides.
The recipe called for it rise 45 mins to an 1 hour. I have it lightly covered with saran wrap in the oven with just the light on since 4pm.
No rise
What'd I do wrong?
When I got the starter out of frige it was really thick and smelled so good!
Did I not leave enough starter in when I fed it last time?

Me n grandson were trying to have rolls to go with our homemade chicken noodle soup but guess not.

Should I just leave it in there to rise over night then do it out unto cinnamon rolls in the morning for one more rise?

My friend cut up the chicken for last night’s dinner. This is unlike her since she can’t stand seeing raw chicken. I heard her exclaim over blood she saw. I thought she got over it. Nope. She gave the dog more chicken than all three humans had combined. :he
In other news, I got a pumpkin cooked down, and put into freezer bags. I miss my pressure canner. :(
