Any hunters/hunter wives?

Totally agree with you on that one!

So sorry the docs were less than timely in getting you the medical attention you needed!!

They were awful about it! I went in the moment it burst (I FELT it, it was torture) and they said oh you have ovarian cysts, go home. Twenty four hours later I'm barely conscious in an ambulance. Horrible. I've got three kids, and I almost died!!! SCARY.

That's a malpractice suit waiting to go to court! Did they ever hear of a CT machine for crying out loud!!??!!

We're all glad that you are going to be ok now though!!

I was wondering if I could sue. The doctors have been absurdly nice every time I've been back in with complications, so I thought maybe they were covering their behinds. I'm not actually planning a lawsuit, but the complications haven't stopped yet...

I'd say that you should at least talk to an attorney...nowadays a CT is pretty basic care, especially for severe abdominal pain...and what I want to know is how in the heck did they "diagnose" you with cystic ovaries without doing an ultrasound?? You bet they are covering their posteriors now!

Great thread idea! My two older boys and I took 7 deer last year. Venison is our main meat source. We don't hunt for antlers, we hunt to live. We also boought a hog and butchered it. Started raising chicks as a lark in April and now have 50! My goal is that we teach our kids to be SELF SUFFICIENT and gardening, hunting and raising chickens are all part of that. Thrills me to know that if something happened to me hat my boys could feed the family without having to buy hormone fed, plant butchered meat to do so. Come on out to SC and we will put you on a deer no problem.

They DID ultrasound!!! They saw "a lot of fluid in the area" and assumed it was from burst ovarian cysts. Ridiculous, huh? Now I can't even eat a full meal without my guts killing me from the abraisions on the outside of the organs caused by "all that fluid" which is SEPTIC!!!

Oh, I wish!!! We're in Alberta - monster mule deer country. They're awesome. My husband takes one or two every year, but I'm gonna get him out with more tags this year because venison is my FAVORITE meat to cook and I'm tryin to teach my kids the exact same things!!! We started raising chix this year, and now we have a pig we're raising too. It'll be ready for butcher right around the time we get venison - nothing like lacing a deer roast with pig fat!!!!!!!

we are big time into white tail deer hunting. That is what we live off of all yr round. My hubby has devoted all his extra time into building hunting houses for me to sit in so i dont get cold. lol

He has go so far as to put windows in them so the wind dont blow in. He has two that are so big 3 people can sit comfortable in them. He loves his hunting.

"Once you've hunted another man, animals are easy" that's what my Cop buddy said as we were tracking a deer I put an arrow into. It will stick with me forever
