, and holder of a hunting license Not alot of time for me to hunt, but hubby hunts with bow and gun/rifle. I hunt with gun only. I am a big hunting advocate, love having the meat.

We hunt deer, moose, grouse, black bear, turkey, duck and geesean d rabbit. We have to travel for some of that--(moose bear, and grouse), and if there was more to hunt around us, we would. We only hunt what we will eat.

Here the pigs overrun everything. They ruin the land and hurt all the other ground animal populations.

We've come up with a solution, while getting ready for deer season. With all the pigs, there's no deer anyway: Put up a stand and deer feeder. Wait until dark, then shoot into the madness as the feeder goes off. The pigs eat the dead. Now the pigs are gone and the deer are back.

I have hunted deer, squirrel, and duck. Had to give up the duck hunting when my boat, motor, and duck blind (that I designed and built myself) was stolen. I really miss the duck hunting but just can't afford to replace everything. Duck makes the very best dressing for Thanksgiving and Christmas!

Hunters here! We hunt whitetail, turkey, grouse, rabbits, coyote, squirrels, and whatever else we can legally hunt. I do our processing.

And speaking of appendix - I had mine out the middle of bowseason almost three years ago. It was bothering me a lot when I was in the stand, and I decided not to go out that night. Ended up in the hospital and got the runaround too. They sent me home with "round ligament pain" - because I was 6 months pregnant. Back in there in 8 hours, and that night they did emergency surgery. I only remember the utter terror because they were rattling off the list of things to say to avoid liability, while I was crashing and they were hooking me to oxygen. Most of it was that there was a strong chance my baby would not survive, and they would try to take her out if it got bad, but then, she probably would not survive, and on top of that, the shock of surgery meant I might not survive either. The last thing I remember was just crying in the oxygen mask and everyone yelling.

Luckily, both of us made it out fine, minus one appendix

I am a hunter myself. I harvested a 12 point non-typical last year with a 32 in full choke single barrel 12 ga using AA buck shot. I made the shot at about 40 yards and he was running full speed, I split his heart in half and he still managed to run about 250 yards into the woods. If not for my gloriously untrained dog I never would have found that darn buck! I have pictures of the crazy Buck if anyone is interested.

We hunt. I started hunting in high school, but have been a fisherlady since I was a toddler. We mainly deer hunt and LOVE getting to go together even though we are always on opposite sides of the woods. We took our 4 y.o. DD last year and she was through when the Cheetos ran out LOL!!!

Wow - that guy sounds a little intense...

You have to be to kill another person.

I always find it a little worrysome when somebody says that they have a gun and just expect "instinct" to kick in when they are faced with an attack. The reality is that even trained cops "freeze up" -- when the adrenalin is pumping you WILL default to the highest level of training that you have MASTERED.

But anyway, back to the topic at hand.

I hunt a little, but find it very hard nowadays because I don't have a partner or a set place to go. My dad always hunted alone and never bothered to teach me, but my first boyfriend did take me and I shot my first deer when I was with him. My DH who hunted with me when we were dating, sold his rifle and quit hunting shortly after we married - talk about a "bait and switch"

I would hunt more if I had a friend, especially if said friend had land - or if I could find a partner we could join a gun or hunting club to use their land. . . . I feel frustrated about it because I really enjoy hunting and of course eating deer!!!
