Any legit work at home jobs?

My theropist's office is in her home. I go to her home to have my sessions. Its a really comfortable setting and makes me feel more relaxed and easier to open up to her about stuff. But you have to have a license for being a theropist.

Haha weird, I had the opposite problem. I was trying to find a babysitter to watch my son in their home instead of mine and couldn't find anyone. Everyone wanted to watch him in our home.

I worked for a company called Alpine Access for several months. It is entirely work from home. They provide the telephone ordering and customer service for several companies. Basically, once you are hired on, you get to pick the account you want to work on. I worked on the Office Depot account.

You have to have internet access and a headset for your telephone. That is about it. The training is a week or so and you post your availability to work and your team leader schedules you accordingly. There was almost always an option every day to log on or off early or late. This was good if I needed extra money or to leave early a particular day.

If you are looking for something to do solely from home that is very flexible, this is a good option. It wasn't exactly easy though. There was *no* downtime. You pretty much go from one call right to the next (the calls are routed to you). In any given shift, I probably helped a couple hundred people. Anyway, the pay was decent ($9-$10 hour) but there were drawbacks.

I should clarify further, working for someone like Alpine Access can be rather difficult. They are *very* strict. You cannot have any noise in your house, like pets or children, or they will fire you. They don't want the customers to know that they are talking to someone working from home.

Also, it is not the sort of thing you can do at a relaxed pace throughout the day. When you are on duty, you will work constantly. The calls are routed through a soft phone on your computer. You are logged on to your account's ordering site while on duty and also must remain logged in to your team's chatroom. There is constant interaction and you *always* have a supervisor watching you closely. They time everything that you do. You only get 60 seconds to even go to the restroom! It is hard, but pays decent for something that you do from home.

I dont think Alpine Access would work for me then, my house is usually loud.

I wouldnt mind watching kids at someone else's house as long as it was fine for me to take my baby once I have her.
School gets out this week, so I will put a sign up and hopfully someone needs a babysitter.

Hrm....... Just got done reading up on alpine access, and in the process I found another work at home company similiar, West... But reading up on everything is taking a little time... and I have to see if I can get a telephone landline to the house before I even consider filling out the app.

Mystery shopping is not something that will bring in a full time income. It can be fun and get you a few free items, like lunch or free movies, but the truth is that they pay very little for the amount of time involved. If you get $12 for a "shop", you have will probably spend two hours or more between the shop and filling out the reports. But, there are some times you can enjoy the assignment.

There are good companies and not so good companies. I am in NY, but my friend is in Virginia and she started working for the company who audited Wendy's. She regularly did those shops and most of the time, loved the food she was instructed to buy and had the reports down so she could do them fast.

But, don't expect it to be a gold mine.

I know this is a family site, but if you have the personality and the willingness, you can make decent money (and in some case BIG money) being an "adult telephone actress"....only women do well though. You would start out working for a "dispatch" company to learn the ropes and some people can easily make $12-16/hour. If you get good and can work for yourself, the money varies even more. Some people can make hundred a day/night. But, the economy has had a large effect on those earnings lately. It is a legit job, but lots of people's sensibilities won't allow them to consider it.

Customer service from home, like Alpine, is also a way to make money from home, but, yes, they are very strict. 1-800-FLOWERS was one of the companies who has at home customer care reps. I had one woman tell me a list of companies she had worked with via at home Customer Service, but I can't remember them all. They were assigned via a company like Alpine.

The more independent and entrepreneurial you are the more money you can make. I think there are quite a few people who do pretty well with Etsy, if they make their own creative items.

If you are great at something, consider offering seminars. You have to be able to market yourself, but I know a couple of people who do well with their smal businesses doing this.

I do not know if you live near a city or in the country. Look at customer service for sales companies or taking receiving orders over the phone for some exisiting small companies that need someone to answer the phone/offer customer service. Look at "plumbing" or blue collar companies they need someone to answer the phones . Best idea learn to sell products or services. There are lots of sales jobs out there.

I answer the TV commercial in my pajamas! for a national Insurance company!
