Any one want to join me in waiting for eggs, posting and comparing notes?

I guess I should change the egg count... it is 56 chicken eggs for the month of January. My wonderful Tia Turkey has laid 17 eggs

I did not think she would lay that many... Thrilled. My little gold star is 12 weeks old... Should be another 6 to 8 weeks at least before she starts to lay. She is starting to get wattles but I can see she is a long way off.
Hey Cat, Turkey eggs count! What a good girl! Do you have any pics of Tia? I would love to see her. It is so windy here today, the chickens are getting moved sideways while they try to walk. I wanted to get a video of it, but my phone was in the house...

Temps starting to drop here, and it is also getting very very cold!

so I'm not sure what's going on with our dominic she's staying by her self in the coop and just fluffed up in a ball, her necks not extended at all. Anyone have any ideas? Hope she's not sick :(

MB~ we had the cold start yesterday. The poor birds thought spring was coming, then BAM wind chills of -10. Has anyone hatched turkey eggs? How different are they as in time wise or difficulty with hatch rates?

I am letting my girls out to free range for a while. Today is nice its 52 degrees and mostly sunny. I spent most of the day in just jeans and a tee shirt. it got a bit breezy so I had to put on a sweatshirt. but my girls I loving it lots more bugs out today then just a few weeks ago. I even seen a ladybug this afternoon.

This is Lilly 2 weeks ago

This is today, stays by herself, neck not extended. Usually sucked in more then this. Just looks like a head stuck in a body. All fluffed up

Debbie have you checked her crop for sour crop or impacted crop? Could have gotten into anything she was not supposed to? Try giving her some water with Apple cider vinegar with mother to drink and see if that perks her up. Make it a bit stronger then you would normally give them in their drinking water. Is she eating and drinking at all?

She sits there then its like shes woken up acts like a chicken then back to just sitting there. Yes I've seen her drinking and eating

Wow Debbie... that is a big one.. Poor girl. That must have been tough. I hope Stella is feeling better soon.

This is Tia taking a short nap... The past few days she was getting a little broody. Now she seems over that.

I need some better pics of her but here she is with Betty and Matilda.

Tia is a Royal Palm Turkey. They are a lot smaller then the Broad Breasted turkeys. Our Tom dressed out to only 12 lbs at Thanksgiving. Tia is smaller then that.
Today it was almost 80 degrees. I almost put on shorts. Little to no wind. It was a good day. We tend to have warm days for January into February and a little dry. We really need the rain. We will go back to cooler weather so it is good to enjoy it wile we can. February will be a little cooler and we will most likely get allll of our rain for the year in March.

Thank you, Stellas good, Lillys the one I'm worried about. I saw her eating and moving a little more today then lately :) Keeping fingers crossed. Her crop doesnt seem swollen... Added a little extra apple cider vineger to her water. Love your turkey pictures! I can't wait to have anything above 50 degrees!
