Any personal experience with SKYBLUE EGGS?

"A true Araucana egg is teal, not really blue. The egg color is produced by the chemical bili- verdin not bili-azul."

If you want quality birds you should be very happy with your purchase from Ann at SkyBlueEgg. Her birds do very well in the show circuit.

yes, I am rather confused by the OP's second post. Ann has true Araucana. Also, if you are only in it for the blue eggs you do not want araucana, they are a challenging breed and hatch rates are not wonderful. I have gotten hundreds of ameraucana and araucana eggs over the last year. I have gotten some blue, some green, but mostly blue green(teal). My bluest layers are my silver ameraucana from Jean(pips&peeps). They lay a lighter egg than my blue wheaten but they are definitely blue, like a powder blue. I also prefer the deeper colors but still love my silvers because it adds to the color of my basket. Good luck locating your eggs

Ill vouch that Pips and Peeps had the bluest eggs I had received this year. They are a true sky blue, maybe lighter than what some people want, but they are a true blue. Just gorgeous. I got ameraucana eggs from another breeder that were also gorgeous, but a different color. Much deeper and richer colored, more of an aqua color, but gorgeous just the same. I find there are many different shades and hues of ameraucana eggs, just wonderful seeing them all.

I got mine from Gary and Lisa of Cree Farms. They were a light sky blue, no hint of green, greenish tinge, nothing. Just light blue. They were beautiful! I have 7 healthy babies, blue and black Ameraucanas. Their username here is lc33wa.
They are AWESOME!!!!!

Who is this breeder, if you don't mind me asking?

I bought some eggs from Wayne Meredith and John Blehm. They were all blue, no greens, not hint of green. Also, Wayne Meredith send me 20 eggs instead of the 12 I ordered. He was especially nice to work with. I bought Whites from Meredith and Silvers from Blehm.

I've got 5 Americauna hens, that lay green most of the time, an occasional olive, and an occasional true sky blue. Go figure! I figure mine are having variables in the final finish. Tim

What is it with all these "superior race" chicken people. I kinda' like all my birds to have tales and no fatal genes. Off to the confinment cage with me!
