Any ropers...? (Anyone know how to rope?)

Hi. Yeah, I know, seems like a kinda weird question?

But several years ago I bought myself a lariat with just the pure intention of learning the skill. No, I don't live on any ranch, or do any rodeo to speak of. The stables I ride at doesn't offer any sort of roping sport. I just wanted to learn it, because some day I may use it. (Depends on what my college life/life outside college looks like before/if I get into rodeo)

It's been sitting in my closet ever since, because I just simply lost motivation and sort of forgot about it. Now I want to learn to use it for real this time.

So I was just curious to know if any of you on BYC know how to rope? I know there are some horse owners on here, from the other pets section, so I decided to ask. I wanted to ask if anyone could point me toward any Youtube channels, websites, or books that I could use to teach myself roping.

Lariat is another word for a lasso/rope.
