Just checking in...I've still got 8 brown red babies going strong...none of my black cochins did anything. I'm thinking they weren't fertile...I'd blame the post office, but they were shipped in the same box with my brown reds! Hope everyone else's hatch is progressing as well!

It's terribly hard for me to not candle them EVERY night!!

I had to promise myself I'd only do it certain days...day 10 was my go ahead to candle and get rid of the ones that weren't progressing. I think I'll check again at 14 and make sure everybodies still moving! Hoping for the best!!

I have some CJ silkies going and I am wiring a run and have a ton of nasty wire cuts on my finger tips. When I candled the silkie eggs I had washed my hands really good but I think the infected wire cuts killed 4 of the eggs! They were going strong until I touched them. Now I'm using disposable gloves until the cuts heal!

So...only a couple days from lockdown here...still got 8 brown red cochins going strong! Plan to candle before lockdown, but all looked good on day 14. Just set some lavendar ameraucanas two days ago too...this hatching thing is going to get out of control!!
