Any waterfowl hunters here? *graphic photos*

It bothers you because you have been told that it should bother you. The last 25 years of anti self sufficient indoctrination giving animals more rights than humans is to blame for this unbalanced view. If people did not hunt, our wildlife would be in a severe imbalance. There is nothing wrong with posing for these pics whether we "feel" it is ok or not. I am female, my entire family were and are hunters....I myself don't like to go but I fully understand the need and place of providing for one's family, instead of buying it at the store or going non meat, which contrary to popular belief..is NOT good for us or the wildlife. Back up 30 years minus all the tricks of govt to get us helpless and see how you would feel about providing this much for your family....you would be proud too.

To bad you don't live by me. I could loan you our hunting lab. Sadly hunting is the dogs passion and hubby doesn't hunt enough to keep this dog happy.

he tries to get into friends car trunks and go with anyone who might take him out hunting. Should see his eyes when hubby takes put his shot gun

I love quail so hoping hubby gets the lead out and brings me home some. Its amazing to see the dog work the pattern they do to find and flush out the birds. They wag their tails entire time proving they enjoy what they are bred to do.

Hunting is more than just "a hobby" up here in Bush Alaska, but a way of life...I can't imagine the amount of diabetes & other malasie in the population of native Alaskans, who would hafta thrive off store bought foods, processed sugars, & what not...Alaska's spring time birds, & fall time birds, fill the freezer full of lean protein that isn't hormonaly/antibioticly/steroidial pumped up to increase weight & hence the "price" of such commodities as is standard in the L48! Humans were much more healthier when they subsisteded of fish & game, rather than today's cellophane wrapped meals, & fast foods. & just because you choose to allow others to do your hunting for you ('less o' course, yer a vegan!) then yer just another hypocrite that can't do the dirty work, because yer so far detached from reality...& gee ya'd think that the "meat birds" section of the site would give ya a clue eh?

& yes, yer in the minority...thank god...

OP, well done, but you should not be foregoing deer season. Man can not live on duck alone. Venison--

I don't find it offensive. People eat animals everyday, whether we buy it dead or kill it ourselves. Good job hunters. The title of the post was warning enough to anyone who might be offended. And yes the chickens I raise are food for my family and friends!

hunters are also often conservationists

ever heard of ducks unlimited?

hunting isn't wrong, humans have been doing it for tens of thousands of years...

would you flame someone for raising meat birds?

I don't have a dog or a boat, but all my friends have farms. I just set up my laydown blind and my decoys and flag 'em in.

I love Goose-ka-bobs!

I know someone out here near me that people send him dogs from all over the world to train their dogs. I highly recommend them. Then the dog can be sent back or whatever. I know for us we could have no contact with our dogs the first two weeks they were there. After that we would go out and see them and watch them out in the field. I have some videos someplace of our male lab , but not sure i would be allowed to post them here or not. It is costly , but i tell you what our male turned out to be a want to hunt dog. Some dogs are not so much like our female. She was like no Thanks. Our male just cant get enough. And he is the best dog ever. His son is just a pup right no but we are saving and planning on putting him thru the same training for my oldest son. About half of the litter of pups we had are going to be bird trained and going to the same guy.
What I love about the training is how the dogs work for whoever takes them out. Not only my hubby. They wanted him to keeo going and become a master huntsmen. But hubby missed him so badly and wanted him home. So he is only a huntsmen.
They used him as a demo dog for the game feed they have out here every year. Think its called wild game feed ? And they don't allow women so i have never got to go. Hubby has a great time its all sorta meats and beer.
