Anybody have chicks shipping Monday August 27?

Hey I just got home from a long 2 hour drive to Meyer hatchery! I brought home 5 brand spanking new Golden buffs, fresh out of the incubator! They were hatched at 3:00 am this morning. Not even 24 hours old! So tiny so cute! And the box they sent them home in too cute! They have already been pecking at food, not water yet. Had in incident with my Maltese. I thought he had killed one. But she seems fine now. I sat the box in the brooder and went in the other room I heard loud peeping and ran back 4 were huddled together in a corner and one was flopping around like it couldn't stand up! No blood, wasn't wet so I know he didn't have it in his mouth. I held her for a while and when I put her back in the box she could stand up. I think my dog tried to get in the box with them. He loves babies, human or animal. Anyway he got a good scolding and he was just as worried about the baby as I was. Now he is laying beside them and if I would let him in the brooder he would probably get in there with them! Not happening! I couldn't wait for them to ship so I went and picked mine up. I will post a pic later. Right now I am to tired to move! I have car lag!

So I remembered how much I hated brooding my first chicks in a plastic tub, and, well, this happened today:

Please excuse the clutter in the background - it's all stuff that got moved around to make room for my homemade incubator, which you can see in the background a little too. I'm really liking this thing - so much better than a plastic tub, and plenty of room for the two chicks I'm keeping. I'm pretty proud of it :p

As I was reading this my I heard a noise behind me turned to look and there is my cat trying to get in the tub/brooder! I had a small cage the last time I brooded chicks now I remember why! Getting out the hammer and nails today! Good job and thanks for the reminder!

Nice brooder Pyxis, good work. Got an e-mail this morning that my chicks shipped yesterday, they were accepted at the Post Office In Polk, OH at 3:07 pm with a guarnateed delivery by 8/29 at 3:00 pm, so I'm guessing they will get here tomorrow, although I'm holding out hope for later today as I think my post office gets a late afternoon truck in and VA isn't that far from OH, we'll see.

But if you ever order from Meyer again drop me a line I just might deliver them special delivery! I would have chose the beach over the brooder had I known sooner~! Now I am stuck~! lol Oh well they are too cute. Well I have tried 2 times to post a pic here and it won't let me says received error. They are on my facebook page.
