Anybody know about Greenfire Lavender Orpington eggs? $25-$30/egg?

Roy, thanks so much! That was really sweet. I just want to say, the credit for my birds, to me directly, is very minimal. I got chicks from Hinkjc's project via a third party and I have bought other breeding stock from folks around the country who have put a ton of work into making nice birds. I just buy what I think is nice quality to add to my flock.

I think that is all any of can really do. Go look for what YOU like and what YOU think is nice and build your flock from there. If it's worth it to you to spend hundreds of dollars on a particular bird, egg, pair, etc, then do so. I have and I think my birds reflect that.

scbatz33 I agree, you can not put a dollar amount on time, energy and smarts. Some of my best birds were given to me, I just paid the shipping. What are they worth? I bet MANY folks would gladly pay the $75 for shipping a bird if it worth doing a project right.
It is not how you get there. Just get there. Good luck on the projects.

ooh wait to you all see the F5 generation, thats right F5 gen from our project lavender orpingtons..they are gonna knock your socks off.

the growing splits look very impressive so far, there offspring will be just as breath taking..

There are so many that have gotten our project lavenders to work with we hope or to do as they see fit..

The future of these birds will be very impressive, just wait and watch..

I'm working with a line of these now, and I can't help but be frustrated by some I've seen which are totally incorrect and yet exorbitantly priced...though if it's the market bearing the price, it's not relevant to the seller. The quality of the bird *is* relevant, and I think the word 'project' must be attached until proper form is achieved.

I guess I'm just repeating what so many others have said!

I have not read the entire posts, but it is unfair and wrong for anybody to use Greenfires name on ebay without express permission from the owner of that name. If he wanted he could come back and sue and take part of the profits from the sale. And it unfair to Greenfire to unfairly label or disparage them because they ask and get a price for their birds, it just seems like petty jealousy to me. Nobody is being forced to buy or bid on any bird or egg, it is a free market place last time I checked.

I noticed several people using either greenfire in their listings or Paul's outright name. I only tell where my birds originated upon request in private email, and I make it clear that though the line may have come from greenfire they are now my birds and I am the one taking responsibility for them, not Paul.

This boy came from eggbid auction from Greenfire. Will you please critique him for me. At least the bit you can see? The first picture is current and the others are from awhile ago. You will not hurt my feelings and I honestly would like to know. I have to run some errands so I will read any comments when I get back. Thanks!
