Anybody setting eggs this weekend? (4-25-15)

We're getting so close!!! This is worse than being a kid at Christmas! :barnie
So I have a question... I was thinking that my hatch would potentially start on Friday afternoon since I set the eggs on a Friday afternoon, but I think I just read that you don't start counting until after the first 24 hours? Maybe I didn't read it right, but should I not expect anything until Saturday afternoon?
No, I would expect something Friday afternoon or earlier! I set my eggs on a Wednesday night and they started hatching Wednesday morning! Still in the process. One baby, one pip, and one still intact. I hope they make it!

Well, getting ready to take the auto-turner out of my Hovabator 1588. Today is 4 days before hatch day on Saturday. I candled too early, then with a light not bright enough, and finally with a little $3.50 LED flashlight that you could see from the moon...;-] At day 14 I gave 2 of my 41 to my dogs, no sign of any development whatsoever. All others appear to be developing fine.

Just getting my brooder finalized, its a light box I built for starting seeds in spring. I just added a glass deck railing panel to keep the lil buggers inside. Testing light height to get 100F. It will be interesting to see how long the 39 will thrive in that 2.5' x 5' space. I'm hoping they can stay long enough that I can take them from there straight into the coop outside.

Hatches are like the weather.....predictably unpredictable. Well, within reason anyway, heh. We tend to follow that 24hr 'day one' plan. Our hatches have come early, as in minutes after setting in for lockdown on day 18, to as far as nothing until late on day 21 like these last 2 sets. We have a box on lockdown right now that is coming into 'day 20' and things are still silent. It's part of the fun, when the incubator goes from silence to action!

New to BYC and expecting my first hatch from an incubator on Monday though there is one bantem in there so maybe as early as tomorrow :) I already started prepping for lock down on Saturday just in case the bantem comes early. Also I read information incorrectly and set all 26 eggs upside down :( so was advised to lay them on their sides early in hopes the buggers get into position correctly.

Welcome to BYC! I hope you have a great hatch even with the accidental upside down eggs. GOOD LUCK!

My eggs go into lockdown tonight. I set 26 Barred Plymouth Rock eggs, I still have to recandle but at last candling 24 eggs were growing well. So hopefully 24 eggs go into lockdown tonight. Im very excited for this hatch!

I wish everyone luck on their hatches as well.
