So I just got home sat down and saw a chicken go by my back door.. I know I left my chickens in the run! Did one escape

Its my brody I gave my chickens a pumpkin today filled with grape tomatoes what a dumby

..I guess with all the excitement she wanted in..

She left them, when I put my hand on the eggs they were cool... Hope my Florida weather kept them alive grabbed them all ran inside and put them in the bator...

But on a good note so far 3 pips 1 Silver Laced Wyandottes and 2 of my olive eggers...Come on silkies

I had to add more water, so I waited until the light went off and opened the top.

Added the water quickly and held the flashlight to the top of my lonely 2... looks like beaks in both air sacs (the one sac was WAY down from when we candled it pre-lockdown). I'm really enjoying having them upright in the carton, btw.

Saw movement in both, and got the lid closed. Now I'm just repeating my mantra:
Peep, Pip, Zip, HATCH!!!

It was kinda funny, I went to YouTube to find a recording of a newly hatched chick.. for the peeping, you understand. Yes, I've caught the disease, I wanted to play it for my eggs.

When I brought the recording to the 'bator G was peeping at me and there was a nice dimple in the shell.

Awww, darn! I'm sorry to report that the dark blue, big orp chick (#5) died today for reasons unknown. It never even appeared to be sick. My DH just found it lying dead in the brooder while I was at work. Man, that sux! I really wanted to see how it would feather out.

I hope the rest are okay... They seem healthy enough, but then so did that one, yesterday.

nhnanna, I was so used to seeing you type EExBO that it took me a second to figure out what a BOXEE (I read Boxy) chick was. Well, we know that cross isn't shy, they want to be the first out of the shell.

Looks like General Tso (Ginny if she's a hen) is going to be black and white -- it's head anyway. Can't see much yet. Beak is upside down... not sure that's normal.
