Anyone "DUE" the 11th? (lol) CANDLING PICS ADDED PG 2

I am compulsively checking on the eggs every five minutes.

it isn't without reason though. yesterday my lil bro saw me and my sister cracking open the two eggs that didn't develop, and he was all like "i'll go get the other eggs so we can break those too!" I got that idea out of his head pretty fast

Lol, at least you stopped 'em.
I've gotten pretty chill about hatching until it actually is happening.
It's super fun for pictures though.

Alright...
It's day 18 and I took out the turner and added some water. I'll have to see what the humdity does. And I'm worried the temp will drop because the turner is out....

I candled quickly but really couldn't see much this far along. There's just a 1/3 (hope this is a good amount) air cell and the rest is dark. I saw some movement in the lightest colored eggs.
I also candled the questionable marans egg 2 days ago and it was moving and doing well. So I have a total of 28 eggs that could possibly hatch.

The excitement is building.....

1 of my eggs hatched last night and another today. 1 looks like a BO and another is black with a little yellowish on the belly.

arabookworm, just give it time! I know that is hard to say, but it will happen when it does. Just watch and don't open!

gris Congrats on your hatchlings! How many more do you have to go??

glowworm you have an new flock with that many eggs! Hope you get a good hatch.

Well my second bator is set up to hatch. I have it running and evened out. I will be putting 7 Welsummers and 3 Cuckoo Marans in tomorrow. My luck was that the box that came the PO had dinged on one corner. It happent to be the corner of the Marans, so I am down to only 3/8 left that look good. Most had bloodrings and two smashed in the box upon delivery. I was really lucky with the Welsummers on the opposite side of the package. Guess that is the way it goes!

Happy Hatching!

Hello all! Its getting down to the wire now isn't it???
Today is day 18 for me, and I put my eggs in the hatcher a couple hours ago.
I probably won't see anything till Wednesday which is really bad timing because I have 2 big finals at the college that day so I'll be gone.

Arabookworm; don't worry yet! Day 21 is when thing are supposed to get going. Even then, they could hatch late. Lol, it's hard at first. Hang in there!
