Anyone else getting ready for some new baby hatching?

The egg that pipped (first broke through the shell) yesterday has now zipped but isn't actually hatched yet. It's working hard, though! Makes loud chirps on occasion, calling to the others to join it, I'm sure. Two others have now pipped as well. We'll definitely have chickies sometime today!

And since I took this picture and uploaded this, the shell is cracked all the way around... it's definitely coming! I was certain this one was taking too long, too. Shows what I know...

Hubby reminded me last night, when I was worrying about my eggs, that if I set them on the afternoon of the first (a Friday) that they weren't actually due to hatch until today, anyway.

This is one of my favorite sites to see! So glad things are going good and you have more pipping and zipping. Can't wait to see pics of your fuzzy babies whenever they get out. I just locked mine down this morning.

At 7 morning had 8 chicks! Now watching two trying to get out. My kids didn't want to go to school. They all look like they are doing well. It's so hard not to open the door and help!

I had the same thing happen to me. I set 2 eggs and on day 19 I went to check on them and surprisingly they were pipped. They did end up hatching that day and one of them couldn't stand up, so I left it in there overnight and by the next morning it was standing up and moving around. I had my incubator set at 100 degrees I am not sure if that is the reason they hatched early or not. But I would say if everything is going good and the chicks have no defects then you are doing good.

I have the same problem, I will stand at the incubator for 30 minutes just watching wanting to get in there and help but I have to tell myself "no, they can do it" but I do love watching them hatch. So glad they are hatching out good.

Now have 14 chicks and counting!!! Hoping enough wait until the kids get home from school, otherwise I'm going to have a very disappointed 11 yr old girl!

Any

Any chicks out of the shells yet CharolineNH? I'm still trying to figure out how to post and reply on here. Sometimes nubile iPad doesn't cooperate well. HAHA.

Yes, we have two out so far! One a few hours ago (almost dry), one just minutes ago! Several others rockin' and rollin', but no other obvious pips yet (that I can see). A friend was just here, *just* in time to watch the last 10 minutes of the chick pushing itself out. She was enthralled, and said she had never actually seen one hatch in front of her like that! It was great! 8 more to go from this batch... hopefully.
