Seems like you peeps are all from the north.

Wanna swap houses???

110* temps w/o AC are NO fun. I can't wait for the ice storms to come in again...

No AC here either. I'm in NJ and close to the water so we get intense humidity and we're experiencing a draught, to boot. We have a ceiling fan in the kitchen which helps minimally, and a fan in the bedroom aimed at the bed!!!

However, we have a dog kennel that's air conditioned!!!

It ain't the heat, it's the humidity!

It's miserable here, even with a zillion fans. I don't know that I could live in southern, coastal SC without the AC. Oddly enough, it's a lot less expensive for us to cool the house in summer than it is to heat it in winter. Go figure.

We havent had air all summer til 2 days ago hubby brought one home. Its in the living room only big enough to cool one room so rest of house is without. Heat has been pretty intense this summer with high humidity. So if we get too warm we go into the living room for a bit to cool off, but mostly its for the dogs. They are happier now only going outside to do their job.

Surprisingly, even though we live in AZ, we don't have AC. I would guess less than half of our neighbor have it either. Our house is well insulated and we close it up in the morning. It always gets below 70* at night, so we open all the windows to cool it off in the evening. All the old places around here are adobe, so they stay pretty comfortable in the summer, too. Winter, well that's another story. We have AC in the cars.

Nope! That is precisely why I live here and not there!

When I'm shoveling three feet of snow this winter, I'll feel sorry for your heat index.
