lifes been crazy for Paul and i with the launch of his new business add to that the home computer braking and a litter of pups being droped on our door step one night i have not been online even to check emails in over a week!

have taken out about 10-12 eggs that stopped developing or never started so now have 18 duck eggs in one bator and 4 guineas 32 chicken in the other

went in to lockdown today day 18 after taking out turner at day 14 (a friend who hatches for a living advised it)and letting them get settled

so went to the bator this morning to fill water up and had a PIP!!

does anyone thing there will be any problems form the early pip not having been in lockdown? i candled all eggs last night!

I had the eggs in egg cartons with the middle ridge torn out so they could lay sideways. I removed the cartons cause I needed room for a bigger water reservoir to raise the humidity.

Lockdown has begun! If you are really getting anxious about how long this is taking and need some stress relief, please click on the link. Feel free to sing along!

Here's another one that is pretty fitting!

ok so figured out how to put up a pic:celebrate
i had the lamp cliped to the tote side but it started to make the plastic go all hot and soft so ended up taking down the TV form the mount in my DH bedroom and screwing in the lamp to hang off it and putting the tote on her desk not very good looking but its a simple brooder but temp is nice and it seems ok for now

Two of my eggs are moving around a bit, I hear a little clink every once in a while! I thought I was crazy, so I got up and watched for 5 or so minutes and saw it with my own eyes, very cool. I have a dozen polish due on 4/6 in my Brinsea Eco 20 and a dozen silkies due on 4/11 in a little giant. There are 5 polish looking like they will hatch and so far, and 5 silkies looking like they are growing nicely. A little disappointed with the hatch rate, hope the 10 all make it! Good luck fellow mamma's and daddy's!

Look good EXCEPT....zip tie that clamp to something! Don't take the chance that it might slip and fall in the brooder! People talk about it happening all the time.....just to be safe and not sorry!
