There are many brands that are good, a lot depends on how much you want to spend.

I don't mind spending the money on it if it works great, ya know? Much better than spending money on one that doesn't work as well, then having to replace it!

So...now I have my eye on the havobators....LOL

If you're going with a styrofoam incubator I would definitely recommend the Hovabator's over the LG's. I have never owned an LG but have seen it cause a lot of people on here enough grief to know to steer clear of it.
The Hova Genesis like The Critter Place has is a really nice incubator, or I would recommend the Brinsea Octagon series. I love my Brinsea's, they hold their temperature wonderfully and being plastic they clean really easily, but it depends on how many eggs you want to incubate at one time also, the Hovabator's can comfortably hold a lot more eggs. Happy incubator shopping!

I have a urgent brooder ???...

I tried come up with a different way to heat the brooder last night, and it's just not working. Kinda like the electric hen. A heating pad over the babies instead of a light bulb.

I can't get the temps over 75!

The chicks need to come out of the bator today! So will this be O.K. for them in the house or do I need to go out later and get a heat lamp?

I haven't sealed up the house yet for winter, so it's kinda drafty. It would be a little better once I do, but they are also in a room with no heat other than what drifts in from the rest of the house.

I could put a space heater in there, and maybe some stuffed animals. It would be 3 chicks at the moment, waiting on 3 more eggs.

All you looking into incubators. I highly recommend the brinsea. I haven't owned the hovabators so I can't critique them. But I like how the whole unit is made to rotate, so you don't have to rotate individual eggs. Also you can choose to buy the external rotater. My temperature never fluxuates (unless opened) and recovers very quickly after opening. Cleaning is very simple.

Yes I would definetly go get a heat lamp for them if I were you.
