Anyone have luck catching a feral chicken?? UPDATE: Rooster caught, no hen

Oh, speaking of reading material, is anyone interested in reading my blog? It is mostly filled with chicken and farm stuff. It is Where Maps Fail. I started posting back in January. My SIL started the blog and posted before that. I'm trying to get posts out twice a week now. I did take an unintended break from July until Sunday with only 1 post in August.
I'm all the way back to HEAT WAVE. Great voice!
Have to stop to run my errands.

I would advise letting your birds roam around that area. They might lure her back into the open, and you may just have yourself a chicken! If she has been spotted in that same area again and again, I wiuld guess she has a nest there! If that is the case, she will not be willing to leave to join a dmoestic flock, but after and if the chicks hatch, she will seek a safe place to raise them. I wiyld just feed and water her at the same time svrry day until she trusts you enough.

We are all still "Squatch Watching" and hoping with fingers crossed a mamma and some littles show up.
If not we are having fun talking chicken, life, and food.

So... hubby made a comment that he doesn’t want to be tied down to the house with a bunch of animals and likes being able to get away, which is why we don’t have horses.
I mean, 13 chickens. I wanted to chime in and say so, how do you feel about 23 chickens??? Which is what the number will be after tomorrow
He will start working from home sometime next year. I told him maybe he will learn to bond with chickens.
He has seen the chickens. I guess because they are bantams, it doesn’t look like 17.

Good afternoon, beautiful BYC peeps! 14 pages to catch up on, woah!

I got my 2018 BYC chicken calendar today in the mail (so jazzed). I haven't even looked it yet! Any of you guys have pics in there?

I have gotten 5 beautiful, little cream colored eggs since my mystery layer (I think it's my Silkie Big Bird) FINALLY started laying. She's the only one out of my 13 girls, the oldest are 28 weeks now, I think. I love my little tiny eggs! :)

Gonna(try to) catch up now!:caf (they need a little emoji like that computer one, but with a glass of wine instead of coffee!)
