Anyone have luck catching a feral chicken?? UPDATE: Rooster caught, no hen

@staceyj, I'm so very sorry, I cannot imagine what it like to lose a child to suicide.

I know it isnt always easy to put that out in the open but thank you for telling us about him. He sounds like he would fit right in here with us!

I'm going to light a candle for you, your family, and him this evening.

Y'all are loved!
Thanks:love

None of those are it.. Her dad (or should I say step-mom) got it for her & I have no idea where. It's really cute though.

I considered showing this summer at the county fair, but decided against it b/c I was worried about getting our chickens sick. The fair we went to had very few birds that weren't there to be auctioned for meat. I was surprised, but assumed that many chicken people felt the same way I did about exposing their birds.
Very few chickens at the Prescott county fair, either. And this is chicken ground zero for home grown chickens, 4-H kids were the only ones showing their birds, and most of them had sheep or pigs & calves. The turkeys did look straggly and pale, I would not bring one to my house! I leave my shoes outside when I come home from somewhere like that, and do not touch anything! I have seen a few posters on here who sell their birds at the show, do not plan on those birds returning home.

Thank you so much @pitbullmomma , my heart goes out to you, and your whole family!
I'm not giving up, I'm just fragile sometimes.

Thank you Stacey. I forgot to mention, DH lost his 23 year old son (also hit by car) 5 years ago. A lot of young death in my family, unfortunately.

I know how hard it is. You have good days, and bad days. And you'll always be fragile. Suicide is a whole other awful ballgame...

Something like that irrevocably divides your life into two parts. Before. And After. Because you are never again the same person.

That is why I don't take the little sh*t in life so seriously any more. In the scheme of things, it doesn't matter. Only who you love and who loves you back, really, is the most important thing, I think.

Well, I went and picked out 5 Bantam Cochins, and I guess my other bantams doubled in size over night!!! I picked out 5 thinking they were all about the same size and they are much smaller. I could kick myself for not paying better attention! A couple I picked out are very small compared to Stanley, Dorothy and Blanche (all bantam brahmas- Rose and Sophia are smaller)! I have never had a rooster and Stanley’s hormones are kicking in! Wow!
