He is getting big how old? very nice. My is growing fast and about 2 to 3 years old.
Beautiful! Iv owned many reptiles, just never got around to a frilled!!
Thanks, I also felt sort of bad for them considering they were only about a foot from the shore. I coaxed a few balls of ants to the shore with a stick, but as beautiful as the widow was, I didn't want to take my chances. I don't have any pics right now of the pond, I'll try to remember to get some and post them. It's an old pond, at least 80 years that we know of. I love having it, and the wildlife it attracts. Right now we have a resident pair of canadian geese (hopefully they'll nest soon), a pair of kingfishers, a lone great blue heron (poor guy/gal never seems to have a mate) and today we witnessed an osprey visiting from a nearby lake try his hand at fishing here. Occasionally little green herons and bufflehead ducks will visit. It's well stocked with many types of fish, and is home to tons of turtles (including some pretty giant snappers) and frogs. They shallows are COVERED with tadpoles right now. Soon the turtles will also start to nest. We have one high bank that they lay their eggs in each year.Wow great pics!! Its kind of sad for the ants and the widow, but served as a good photo op.i would love to see a pic of your pond!!
