I came across the Cosmopolitan Chicken Project while searching for chicken breed projects. I don’t understand what they are trying to accomplish by cross breeding chickens from different countries.
Also Belgian artist Koen Vanmechelen has joined the project. He uses chickens for some of his art work which in my opinion is quite disturbing.

I suppose it is alright, as long as no cycen or other conscious Thing is subjected to Pain for the sake of an Art it cannot comprehend. I mean in the way of Breeding or Keeping.

I know I'm jumping in, but why don't they cross the breeds together from both parent sides instead of going with the first breed to a pure breed then their offspring and so forth. Wouldn't it go a lot faster?
Also, if you breed in this pattern, the chicken will be half one breed and half everything else. Obviously you need to breed the pure breeds together right away then breed the offspring together, until you have one bird with all the breeds. It would then not show only the traits of it's parents. This is genetically unsound as the creep who's taping feathers to statues, and would only take 7 years at most.

You're onto something there.
A chicken only has so many genes so you can mix 50 or however many together but by the end they would of lost so many genes that some breeds wouldn't be in the mix at all any more and ya with the final product it would be 50% the last breed used and 50% whatever genes survived all the mixing.
Someone's brilliant idea of what that thought would be neat without much knowledge of breeding and genetics.
