I read that you can put food coloring in a hens vent to tell which eggs are hers. Is this true? I can't tell my bantys eggs from my new pullet eggs and want to put my Banty roo in with them and hatch some bantys.

I've heard it is true but wonder when the food coloring dries, if it still would come off on an egg. Some say you can use lipstick too, of course you'd want to dump it out afterwards - ick!
