Have a broody hen, not sure what to do with her. :barnie


If you want to break the broodiness, my fail safe method is to stick them in an upside down hamster cage (essentially any cage that has a wire bottom) with food and water on a brick in each corner (so it's off the ground) in the run - this ensures she can't brood and when she sits down her tummy is cooled by the air, after a few days in here they give up!

Hi All, I'm UK based in Portsmouth UK, I have many rescued / hand raised pet chickies from silkies, pekins, 1 pekie or is it silken? 2 bluebells, 1 buff Orpington & 1 jersey giant!!!
I am Desperately seeking help to foster a few & rehome the rest Due to forced house sale ( divorce )!!!¡
Hopefully it will be a few more months yet before they have to go!

I am looking for someone local who has time & garden space to give them loving homes.
Available,Mrs Peck jersey giant hen, Harvey, Charlie Brown & Paddy gorgeous pekin males - hand raised & gentle nature, Daisy, Dolly & buffy gentle ladies who need somewhere to retire.
