Anyone mechanically inclined? S10 Blazer no start...

So would you be the one on the hood or the one in the sun roof?

Took the new handy dandy scanner out there, plugged it in and set up for the vehicle... One moment please... Code retrieval was successful... No DTCs are presently stored in the vehicle's computer.

Have you reset the ECM? We just had this problem with my honda passport last week. Are you getting any spark at all? Check the ignition module and ignition coils. If there's no check engine light you're probably not going to have any codes come up.

I don't know if the check engine light is a vehicle problem or a blown bulb. Don't know if you can reset on a vehicle that old? It has the OBD1 system. With the scanner we got you can clear codes on OBD2 only. I'm going to let it sit for a few days, it's supposed to get up to the 20s in a few days. 0 degrees with a 14 mph wind in a parking lot is a bit hard to work in, especially since it's out in the parking lot where she works. Who knows, maybe I'll get lucky when it's a bit warmer and it will start to at least get it home. The garage isn't heated but is out of the wind and I can turn the kerosene heater on if I need to...

wd gels at about 20 degrees, causes all sorts of problems with moving parts. Found that out the hard way one deer season when the firing pin wouldn't drop on MY buck.
I use Liquid wrench penetrating oil for snowmobiles and stuff. Liquid to -40.

I had a '95 Bravada and my spider (fuel injector lines) was bad from day one. I replaced them 3x, I cleaned the EGR, opened and cleaned the cat, new plugs, wires, cap/rotor, new O2 sensor, ect. ect...

Yours should have the spider. It sounds to me like if you do have the spider, that the spider is bad or the lines into the spider. Mine got so bad that I was getting 8 miles per gallon and it barely moved when I pushed on the gas.

ah I remember when my blazer blew the spider. I had gas coming out the tail pipe bleech
Yes, the 1990 should have the spider I know that the 92 does. Have you checked the fuel pump or for clogged lines as well? My Jimmy started lagging like you described when the fuel pump was going bad.

OP said its a TBI 4.3 from 1990. No "spider." (never heard that term used on a gas burner) Just a hard line from the tank to the throttle body an a return line back to the tank

1992 they did have a multiport 4.3 option but its not standard. Cost to much.

I've never seen an early 90s Blazer or Jimmy WITHOUT a spider. I've owned 4 myself. Is the engine a Vortec?

OK, was looking, I think 92 was the first year for the spider to be standard. My '89 had one though.

I have only seen one that was not TBI in my life an it was a 1992. I think multiport was a high end option sense about 1986.

Dealer may order different options in different parts of the country.
