Anyone noticing an unusually poor November egg production?

I have never had a year with so few eggs.
Right now I am getting 1 egg every few days. My pullets that were laying have stopped

10 hens. Americauna stopped laying in September. The rest kept up, but 5-7 eggs every other day. Except yesterday, when the temps plunged. They took the day off. It was Thanksgiving though, so maybe they just took a holiday....

We have eighteen birds of mixed variety, and have been averaging 13 eggs a day. We supplement their light, so they are seeing about 15 hours of light a day. We have also made sure that they're getting 20% protein in their feed mix. At this time of year (if your girls are free range) they may not be eating as many bugs and worms, so that could slow down your production. We had the state inspector at our place a couple of weeks ago and he suggested including cat kibble to bump up the protein. We estimated at that time we were at 16% protein. With the addition of the kibble, we're seeing our laying increase.

Just a couple of ideas for you. Best wishes to all of you! It's so funny to me that all of us chicken people seem to feel the same way about our girls. LOVE THEM!

Yes! 7 our of 8 layable hens... I'm usually getting 2 or three. But hopefully today I'll get 5! ( So far we have 3 and some were in nesting boxes!)

Not me I had 3 laying and 3 about to lay and figured the almost laying girls would wait till spring to be real productive but 6=6 eggs a day!!!!!I live in Central Ny and it gets dark around 4:30 no artificial light or anything either guess I got some good girls!!

This summer I was giving eggs away but now out of probably 20 hens am down to one Easter egg a day. One hen broody and setting. One in a seemingly endless moult. put a light on a timer night before last for 14 hrs total light. Now all of a sudden have lots of egg customers but no eggs, the girls better start putting out!

Our slow time started late summer when heat was not breaking. We then hit moulting and now cool to cold weather. I have not seen eggs in 3 months. We have 11 hens that this is there second winter. 2 new pullets and 2 new cockerals. Only one of the pullets is showing any signs of maybe starting to lay by her red face and comb. All others are still pink. Last year I was get eggs all thu the season but it was there first year. We had alot of broodies too. So my bet here is they are waiting till spring to go broody again before laying.

I have restock nest boxes with fake eggs and all they do is cover them up and kick them to the egde. I noticed any food in coop is just gone and mine free range all day. I am now feeding outside also for our nights here have been in the 20's. My next thing to jump start them is too lock them in the coop with cat food and there layer for a day or so.

I have a low egg production in November as well. My new pullets are laying but the old ones are taking a break for no apparent reason. Another farmer nearby seems to have the same problem.

Seriously folks, other than SIGNIFICANTLY increasing the light for them, nothing is going to work. If the sun's UV rays on the earth is limited, only more light will help. This is not a strange phenomenon. It is nature and the 19 year cycle of the planet, the sun and the moon. It is real and it is scientific.
