We have eighteen birds of mixed variety, and have been averaging 13 eggs a day. We supplement their light, so they are seeing about 15 hours of light a day. We have also made sure that they're getting 20% protein in their feed mix. At this time of year (if your girls are free range) they may not be eating as many bugs and worms, so that could slow down your production. We had the state inspector at our place a couple of weeks ago and he suggested including cat kibble to bump up the protein. We estimated at that time we were at 16% protein. With the addition of the kibble, we're seeing our laying increase.
Just a couple of ideas for you. Best wishes to all of you! It's so funny to me that all of us chicken people seem to feel the same way about our girls. LOVE THEM!
