I know, those first few weeks of the struggle are tough, but you get some nice losses! However, when your body starts becoming accustomed to your new eating schedule, lesser food and the better foods you struggle slightly less... and you lose a little less. I knew I was cranky and felt hungry when I knew I wasn't the first couple of weeks. Then I realized about week 4 I didn't want seconds at dinner, and I was eating smaller portions. So I was proud my body accepted my new eating menu.
I struggled through the holidays though, watching everyone else eating like nuts... I did almost ALL of the cooking too. The turkey, the potatoes, the stuffing, the casseroles, the corn, the pies and of course my business.... in a day I would bake 15 dz biscotti!!! If you cook/bake it, you are the taste tester. So I put on 4 lbs between Thanksgiving and Christmas... but I got RIGHT back on the ball.
I think the 'struggle' is over
Long as I stick to the major rules. NO SODA (not even diet), NO FAST FOOD (if it has a drive thru its OUT), and NO SNACKING AFTER 8PM.
Now to get back to walking regularly! Geez... that's the hard one. I would walk 3-4 nights a week when it was nice, plus I do a LOT of gardening in the spring-fall months. So I feel I am not getting much in the way of exercise.
I may have to come back and get some motivation from you guys soon.... because walking in 30 degree weather is a TURN OFF!!!
P.s.- I weighed in, and its REALLY sad how little I am losing so slowly by now. But I started out at 180 in September, and my goal was 140 by Feb 17th (my 6 year wedding anniversary) and I won't be making it.
I just hope its gone by Summer at this point. I am only losing about 1 lb per week. Though I am several months into my diet and now in a routine. *sigh*
