Anyone setting eggs May 1st?

I had 9 out of 10 hatch! I had to help the last 2 out. I always tell myself with every hatch, i'm not going to intervene, but after a whole day of the eggs completely cracked all the way around, and they just couldn't break a few of the tissue string things that were holding it together, i couldn't help myself. 1 of them is just fine, the other while alive, I'm wondering if I should've just let that one be. His neck is crooked, but he's up, eating & drinking. He has a very strong chirp. I may keep him in the house for a few weeks to see how he does. Here's a pic of my hatch. I started with 15 eggs. 5 didn't develop, 10 left, 1 didn't hatch. I consider that a pretty successful hatch! Good Luck Everyone on their babies hatching!

I GOTTA PIP!!!!

I GOTTA PIP!!!!

Only thing is.... when I noticed the little bit of shell on the floor of the brinsea it was facing down...almost covered. I moved it 15 degrees to the position shown in the picture. Does anyone with experience think this was ok? or should I have just left it where it was. I was afraid it wouldn't have gotten further with the pip facing downward. These poor eggs have it stacked against them with the horrible air cells. I was an idiot and didn't mark them with a pencil so I don't know the ones that were really bad off. Another lesson learned....

Oh good Luck with him, I am afraid I may have some issues as half my chicks were developing in eggs with ridiculously large air cells. Keep us posted on the little one.. as we all learn as you do when you share your experience. Hope he straightens out. I have read a lot on here about this crooked neck syndrome thing..

I'll be curious if I come home to any more hatched, wasn't much happening this morning so idk. Really hope I come home to two more fuzzbutts. I think mama is antsy to get out if the best and show her babies around, so I may end up sticking the last two in the hatcher.

Today is day 18 and I have a pip already. Went to put them out of the turner and heard a cheep. Only one egg but it's 3 days early. No school until Tuesday and I am not able to get into the building (I'm too low in the chain the get a building key). Classroom Teacher that I am doing this for is going to have to check on them for me and call me if I need to do something.

Go chicks Go! I'm loving everyone's posts and pictures. Best wishes for all the hatches.

I candled and weighed my eggs today. Still a dozen duck and 10 chicken (I dropped one and one had a blood ring early on). They all look good so far, I could see movement in all of them. :) Monday is lock down!
