Hi,
I have vent gleet spreading thru the folk thanks to a friendly and equal-opportunity rooster. I think it is also interfering with thickening of egg shells in the oviduct, as affected/infected chickens are laying thin-shelled eggs. This is despite being on layer feed with access to both egg shells and oyster shells. So, I am currently trimming butt feathers, adding probiotics to feed, putting ACV in every other waterer, giving epson salt baths, giving calcium injections as needed, and now spraying butts with blu-cote, as an anti-fungal.
Anyone else ever tried blu-cote for vent gleet? I found it recommended on several blogs, but no direct posts from anyone who would say, " I tried x, y, and z, and here's what worked."
Thanks for your thoughts.
