I'm supposed to have a dozen eggs waiting for me back at the house... Got my fingers crossed that USPS treated them kindly

I'll be setting tomorrow morning so I'm definitely in!

Forgot to add what kind they are!!! 2 dozen Silkies in a myriad of mystery colors from CJ's Silkies!!! SO STOKED!!! I might throw in a few from my flock too if I've got room so possibly some BBS Marans, maybe another couple from my BR hen crossed w/ my Blue Copper Marans cuz I got THE cutest little sexlink last time, and maybe a couple from my BO crossed w/ the Blue Copper... Holy cow that will be a whole mess of baby chicks!!!

For day 1 - 18 you usually want 40 - 50%. At lockdown bump it up to 60 - 65%

My DD came in the room when I was setting my eggs and said you better hope daddy doesn't come in here. I told her no worries and explained that if 12 barnevelders hatch and half of my shipped eggs thats 6 bantam cochins, and 12 of my own bantam cochins hatch. Thats 18 bantam cochins, those are half the size of large fowl so only count as 9.

So 9 +12 = 21 round that number to 20. Half those could be roos so that leaves me with 10.

I just sold 6 roos and my mom is taking 3 hens and my neighbor wants one hen. So I'm okay my husband shouldn't freak out when he finds out I set 39 eggs. I have a couple weeks to sweet talk him into building a fourth coop. Not for more chickens but to separate the colors of chickens. That's all he needs to know for now.

Woo Hoo!!! My eggs were here when I got home!!! The seller did an awesome job packing... Wish I could say the same for USPS and their handling skills... The box was on it's side when I got here. Despite the great packing they managed to dent the box and break two of them

There were also a couple with loose air cells so I won't be turning those for a day or so. Hopefully they'll develop! Luckily the rest of the 2 dozen looked very good and 9 of them were Black Lav Splits which I'm SUPER excited about

I'm also crossing my fingers that the white hatch cuz I reeeeaaaally want a white Silkie too
