Well, my one remaining egg looks like it's dead. Time to pull the plug. That leaves me with 5 out of 9. Only 7 went into lock down. Not bad for my first time!

Wow looks busy... Mine went into lock down Saturday and i had 7 marans and 10 aras

one Maran (Wheatie) is hatched - minor complications but looks to be fine
one is external pip (Marans) and one internal pip (dancing egg my son says) - Ara

They are 36 hours early for the marans and Ara's are due upto 48hrs

I will post pics tomorrow

Still a big fat zero here. Really wish I had got that hydromitor a few weeks ago. It's only day 20 but I have a bad feeling.

Noooo! They could just be a day or two late. Or sometimes, they will rest before the big day. I think it just depends. The pictures you posted of them before lockdown looked promising, I thought.

My first hatch that was supposed to hatch on Feb. 2nd never hatched, I had finally decided that they weren't going to hatch, and so I did eggtopsies on them to find that 2 of the three had died early on- and the darkening was probably just yucky bacteria taking over. It was disgusting. The other one was far behind with a yolk and guts still not absorbed. But it was completely feathered- a dark grey/black color. It would have been a sweetheart, but it gave up in lockdown. Now, I am on day 7 on my second hatch (20 eggs). I decided not to get too touchy with the eggs, because I didn't want ANYTHING to happen to the eggs- my husband still teases me about having "thrown" the first batch on the floor (when it wasn't my fault the leg on the table broke--UGH HUSBANDS!). I even managed to refrain from candling them until today- day 7 to check their progress. Out of 20 eggs, 2 of them were obviously infertile. The other 18 look alive and well!
