Anyone want to hatch with me? - Went in 01/16/14.

Okay lockdown is Tomorrow and I am really freaking about the air cells. Just candled and they're small. They are all wiggling around but I am worried that they are going to drown. here are a couple of pics. Do you think they have a chance?

I have to say that for the last 3 weeks I haven't really been expecting aany eggs to hatch. I hoped. I got excited. But I was so worried about user error & not knowing what I was doing that I figured we would be lucky if even one made it. But now...

I have one that started to pip midway down the shell and showed beak and all. I thought it was going to hatch just fine. I went outside for less than an hour and came back inside to a dead chick :( I have 3 eggs left with one pipping (my last bantam egg). It seems that my last 2 LF eggs are not going to hatch. As I took the 3 chicks out of the incubator so they could get food and water, I candled the LF and Bantam eggs, all look the same....so I dont know what is going on. Hope everyone else is having a great hatch.
stinks doesn't it! Don't give up you just might get some or next time gets better because you learn. I wish now I would have intervened but when I saw the blood I put that booger right back never considered it was upside down but I will next time. Hope everyone gets some cute fuzzybutts soon I will add pics later my blue silkie has cute white wing tips and a white butt and no. 2 will be here shortly yeah!!!

Sure does! All in all I have had a good hatch for a VERY first hatch! #4 is rocking and rolling and I am hoping it hatches before I go to bed! I have to work 16 hours tomorrow and staying up all night to see if it hatches/needs assistance is not an option at this point!

I have my 3 hatchlings in the brooder right now under the heat lamp with an ambient temp inside the brooder of 91° and another 24 in the coolerbator! I am hoping that this hatch goes MUCH better! I have to add a viewing pane on the cooler though, opening the top isn't horrible as the heat loss is minimal right now, but I would like to keep it even lower if possible!

So far I have had 2 feather footed bantams (could be black/blue purebred silkie or black silkiexjap/silkie (her dad was a Japanese Bantam and Mom was a White Silkie) one Black and one White or yellow at the moment and I have 1 LF bird--could be a number of crosses as far as hens (Black orpington, Black Jersey Giant, Rhode Island Red, Red Sex Link, White Rock--I think that is all of the LF) and Roos (Rhode Island Red and Easter Egger).

I am leaning towards the Easter Egger for dad because it has potentially Olive Legs...Still a lil too early to tell.It is black with some white color bleeding through!

Either way...they are cute!

They are all cute even the they are so ugly they are cute ones. I have 7 eggs rocking a bit one chirper and no idea who it is probably white they are sturdy healthy babies. Hope all goes great with little one before 16 hr. Work day is that even legal??? Sorry

Congrats to all of the new chicks. I am trying to enjoy the process but very impatient! Today is day 5. The humidity is a perfect 40-45% and one thermometer says 102 degrees and the other 99 degrees... its a still air styrofoam incubator. I had to open it on day 3 to put one of the thermometers back in its spot and so I took the opportunity to use my new candler... I didn't even pick up the eggs, I just barely touched the candler to the eggs... I saw several with veins! Thank goodness they are growing! That gave me enough hope to relax.
I plan on candling on day 7 and take pictures to share if I can!
Good luck hatch-a-longs!
