Anyone with gastro problems?

I had a sigmoidoscopy due to the fact that my Doctor thought I had Crohns, but he ruled that out. So, they say it's IBS. My bowels are much better when I take vitamins on a regular basis, but they do nothing for the nausea. I actually vomit every morning ( I know that is gross, sorry) But, afterwards, I feel so much better. Sometimes, I can eat and not get sick again, and other times I eat and get so sick and start sweating and I get dizzy and feel horrible. Almost like a really bad hot flash.

Very rarely can I eat sweets, I have to really be craving them or else I am in trouble.

Not sure why he chose the Prozac, maybe he thought I was stressed and thought it would stop the cramps. I use to have anxiety attacks, but haven't had one in over 14 years.

Anytime I eat, my stomach swells up so bad, that I literally look 7 months pregnant. My girls sometimes ask me if I am pregnant

I tried drinking some stuff for yeast

Hopefully, one of us will find something that helps.

With gluten, the reaction is tied to the immune system rather than digestion, so your symptoms are not necessarily going to occur right after you eat. Gluten contains a protein called gliaden and the immune system produces antibodies against it in sensitive people. Here is a link with more information about the cycle and resulting damage... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coeliac_disease

There
are very accurate home tests available now - http://celiachometest.com/en/test/biocard-celiac-test/ , or your doctor can order any number of screenings. Since your doc did not even consider this disorder in the first place, it might be wise to find someone more experienced!

Its all so confusing. I really do not want to have to cut wheat or gluten out completely, but maybe if I cut back drastically, I can have a little on occasion. I just bought some rice pasta tonight to try and a loaf of rice bread. Helps that we have the gluten free section at the store now. I am willing to make modifiacations, thats for sure.
I felt so ill this AM and stayed that way most fo the day until about 2 and I have some mashed potatoes and some chicken from work. Had some Ginger tea which always seems to make me feel better.

The stuff I take for yeast is called Aquaflora, and its a liquid. I add it to spring water, and it has no taste. I take it the first thing in the AM when I get up, and it usually helps settle me. I have to wait 20minutes before eating or drinking anything.

For a person who has Celiac the cure is 100% adherence to a gluten free diet all the time, no "cheating". Someone who is just gluten intolerant may be able to get away with eating a small amount of gluten from time to time, but only after the intestinal damage has healed which can take years for some people.

I know that it is scary contemplating such a huge dietary change! I've been there. But you all owe it to yourselves and your loved ones to get tested and if it is positive - hooray! You know just what to do to get healthy! (And I promise that you will see improvements in so many aspects of your health, not just the bloating, cramps, diarrhea, etc.)

Yes, there are other things that can cause GI problems... this happens to be the one that I have personal experience with and it blows my mind that it is still being overlooked in so many cases. If anybody has questions or wants more information about my experience or a gluten free diet feel free to PM me. I don't want to hijack the thread... I just want to make sure that those of you that are suffering know to look into it!

I guess that's where I messed up. I took a teaspoon full and it was horrible. Never thought to put it in anything. I paid quite a bit for that bottle too at the health food store.

We had tacos tonight and I had to quit eating for about 10 minutes, they were making me sick. My dad is in and he couldn't believe how large my stomach was after I ate. I think he was slightly shocked.

I'm not taking anything right now, but not sure if anyone else it taking glucophage............ I haven't heard of that. I tried some medicine for IBS that Walmart carries and it made things worse.

I usually grill alot and just have a meat and vegetable and I do pretty good with that, but my dad was laid off until the 28th and he can't eat with his dentures, so I am cooking things that I know he can chew with no teeth, so my belly is really suffering from it right now.

I have had GI problems since I was 16. I am now 42. I have GERD, IBS, swallowing difficulty, and had ul.cers in the past. I have been on every acid reducer pill out there. I am now supposed to be on Aciphex but I can't affoprd it w/no insurance, it's like $350 a month. Ugh. That's what I get for getting married- loss of health benefits.

I've had GI problems as long as I can remember. Docs say IBS. About 2-3x a month I get a really bad colon ache. I get cold sweats, vomiting the works. I feel like I'm gonna faint while trying to have a BM. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. Had a lower GI done, afterwards the doc said everything looked normal. He asked where it hurt and I showed him and then he preceeded to tell me that he thought it was a pulled rib muscle. PLEEAASSSEEE, like I don't know my own body. I have learned that certain foods aggravate it, like red sauces (tomato, pizza), spicy foods, pretty much all foods. And the symptoms are worse when my monthly is approaching so hormones play a part as well.

I was feeling pretty ill yesterday as I said but, I normally would be starting my period on Wednesday, which would coincide with when I normally feel so sick. So far this am, okay. The doctor put me on Birth control pills so not sure how this will affect the nausea and all I get a few times a month. We are hoping with part of it being hormonal like you said, it will get better.
Am taking the rest of the spaghetti to work with me today for lunch. I noticed that my Classico spaghetti sauce I get is gluten free---yeah! For two mornings though, I felt like I was getting acid reflux, not bad but noticed it.
Has anyone who gets acid tried to take the baking soda and water to get rid of it? My neighbor swears by it but I gag whenever I taste it ---yuck!
