Anyone with gastro problems?

Someone who is just gluten intolerant may be able to get away with eating a small amount of gluten from time to time, but only after the intestinal damage has healed which can take years for some people

Yup! It takes a while for your body to heal.

Dr agreed to give me a blood test for H. Pylori. I find out results on Friday. He also put me on another irritable bowel pill, and Zantac which is for ulcer treatment and a histamine blocker. ( I have too much histamine in my body.) I knew that he didnot until I told him almost two weeks ago. I have not had any ulcer like pain anymore but, I still get nauseated, and almost but not quite, Diarrhea. Its just not going away, and once I get off the meds, I am sure it will come back again full force.
Doctors are so stingy with the Compazine, I mean really, if it makes me feel better why cant I have a full prescription?

I just found this...

" Histamine-rich Foods/Substances

Histamine levels will vary based on the maturation process and the degree of freshness. The longer food is stored or left to mature, the greater its histamine content and the more problematic it can be for individuals with food sensitivities and intolerance.

Fresh meat contains no or very little histamine. However, when meat is processed further, the maturation process results in the accumulation of biogenic amines.

The same is true for fish. Fresh fish contains no or very little histamine. However, fish spoils very easily and this leads to a rapid accumulation of histamine due to bacteria. Further processing, which includes salting, smoke-drying, marinating and preservation, may increase the histamine content.

Examples of foods/substances that may increase histamine levels resulting in symptoms including digestive problems, headaches and skin rashes are:

* Alcohol, particularly red wine and champagne. Also white wine and beer.
* Aged, smoked, canned fish and fish sauces. Tuna fish, mackerel, sardines, anchovy, herring, catfish, salmon.
* Pizza
* Smoked and processed meats such as salami, ham, bratwurst and bacon
* Sauerkraut
* Certain vegetables: tomato, spinach, eggplant, avocado, mushrooms and canned vegetables as well as commercially prepared salads
* Certain fruits: strawberries, bananas, papayas, kiwi, pineapple, mango, tangerines, grapefruits, red prunes, pea
* Red wine vinegar, balsamic vinegar
* Soy sauce
* Cheese
* Mustard
* Ketchup
* Sunflower seeds
* Chocolate/cocoa
* Coffee, black tea
* Some fruits: citrus, bananas, strawberries, red prunes, pears, kiwi, raspberries, papaya
* Bread and confectionery made with yeast
* Peanuts, cashews, walnuts"

no wonder I have histamine problems.....

I had IBS for seven years! It got worse and worse. Horrible intestinal pains, random bouts of diarrhea...

I also had frequent heartburn and I was totally miserable. In addition to that I had terrible gas and bloating. The gas bubbles were so bad it seriously felt like a pregnancy. The baby I have inside of me kicking right now at 27 weeks is less violent than those rolling bubbles! I felt like I was going to have diarrhea CONSTANTLY. I have pooped in every public bathroom in my town, I swear.

I cut out all dairy and gluten completely for about six months. I felt much better for a few months, but then it all slowly started to come back. I couldn't afford any medical tests.

I couldn't gain any weight for years. I'm 5 foot 6 and I could not gain weight past 106 pounds no matter how many calories I ate. I had one healthy baby, but then the second time I got pregnant I had a miscarriage because the placenta didn't develop properly and I couldn't get pregnant again even though we tried for 7 months. (With my first two pregnancies I got pregnant the first month we tried.) And my stupid diarrhea and aching intestines got even worse!

One day I happened to read an article saying that 40% of women in the USA who are diagnosed with IBS actually have a parasite. Then I read the symptoms of parasites and...I had all of those symptoms! I went to an herbalist and he agreed that I had parasite symptoms. He gave me a tincture to take, and a second dose to take in two weeks.

My body cleaned out everything. Every little thing, to the point of water. (Oddly it wasn't painful past the first few poos....) And I pooped worms! It was horrifying, but also kind of a relief. They were mixed in with the poop, not something freaky like you would see if you google parasites. They looked like long grains of rice that were slightly curved. For 24 hours after I took the tincture I felt really odd, like I was walking on marshmallows. The herbalist said that it was from the toxins the parasites released as they died.

A couple days after taking the tincture my aching intestines were gone. I didn't have any gas. I felt completely normal!!!!!

I took the second dose and again had the major intestinal clean out, and again I pooped some more little worm segment things. Didn't get the marshmallow high feeling the second time around. I think the worms were already dead.

After that it took a couple days to recover, and then I felt wonderful.

I ovulated two weeks later and got pregnant! And I haven't had diarrhea since. It's been months.

Long story short: Make sure you don't have worms!

This stuff sucks. Sorry to hear of everyone's issues.

I've been part of the clubhouse for a while. Started off having "esophageal spasms" were are reflux-related. Frikkin' painful stuff. I was put on heavy-duty drugs, which ended up reducing the acid in my stomach so much I got salmonella poisoning. It wasn't resolving either. So I went through a buttload of tests. Barium swallow, colonoscopy (fun!!!

), blood tests, blahblahblah. They eventually discovered that the sphincter that closes off my esophagus from my stomach does not close at all. I suppose there is a surgery to correct this but at the time I am managing it somewhat well. Gotta sleep with my head elevated and I can't eat incredibly spicy food, or large amounts of food at once. I still get reflux on a daily basis...with the things like prilosec and the like, they either didn't work or gave me such severe nausea I couldn't function. I'll probably end up paying for this later but at the moment I suppose I've gotten used to it.

And, woop d'doo...I am also gluten intolerant. It's the kind that manifests on the skin though more than the intestines. It's not so bad, there are plenty of tasty non-wheat alternatives...although I still cave for a bite of sourdough every now and then.

I know where you are at, after spending thousands of dlls. in Dr. bills from the various test they performed on me, I thought they'd at least give me a diagnose besides just you have gastric problems. Well I lost all confidence in the western medical practitioners!!!! I went to my local vitamin center and asked Jack what I could take for the symptoms I was having. He immediately pointed me to a product there on the shelf. It's called Dr. Ohhiras Probiotics 12 Plus, I doubled dosed cause it says you can, and because I felt so much pain. After just 4 days of taking it consistently I woke up one morning not having that pain!!!! And no I don't work for the product!!! I just want to share how I found relief in a box of $53. probiotics, all natural!!

oh and yes giving up the coffee would help your problem.

Hi So sorry to hear about your problems, but I have the same kinds of problems I have Chronic Pancreatitis. You really need to see a pancreas specialist, especially since they have already told you your pancreas is inflammed. This is very serious. You need to have your amylase and lipase levels checked, and also it takes about 6 months to be diagnosed. Does your pain radiate through to your back? Does it feel like someone is poking you hard in the stomach or just to the right of your sturnum? I feel nauseated all the time have lost over 40 pounds and most of the time food tastes awful. Do you drink any alcoholic beverages? or smoke? You have to stop if you do, if you want to help yourself. Please Please get checked for Chronic or Acute Pancreatitis. I am going in Feb 2nd for my 3 ercp with a permanent stent placement and if I do better I will keep getting larger and larger stents over a period of a year, it might end up with major surgery, but right now I am so tired of feeling in pain (I take percocet 10mg x4 a day, could take 6). It is hard to diagnose but you have the same sounding problems that I do. Good luck I don't know where you live , but we have IU Medical Hospital with a pancreatic specialist that is very good. I will pray for youl

You need to go gluten free, and possibly dairy free.
Its time to heal your gut, and get the good bacteria back in charge.
Good real probiotics are key. And not the processed stuff you find in the store
I will get back with you in the morning if you would like. To late to go further.
If you do have IBS, you can cure it with real foods, and no drugs.
