My mom had the most beautiful hair, long, wavy. When the twins were born 10 years after me she couldn't keep up with it any longer....so off it went. My dad was unhappy about it.

She never did grow it back.

My daughter had hers as long as yours until she went for a trim and it was chopped off!!!

I never grew mine that long but I was always being told the same thing. I went for a trim at a salon and they chopped it off!!!! I cried and cried

So I say it's just envy from the salon. Keep it aslong as you want.

Thank you all. I'm just for a lack of a better word appalled at both of these women. I've known them for 22 years and been nothing but cordial. I knew though the way sister in law acted when she saw it something was up.She dropped by unexpectedly while I was letting it dry. The look on her face you would have thought I had an extra arm or something. Then my niece says "let me see it" I'm like see what? That's when all the gossip got spilled. Niece thinks it's "lit" so I'm sure that's going over well. I was planning on brooding mother in law some nice chicks this spring I still will but the mixes might be a little different.

I love older women with long hair (not that you're old, but you get the point). Much more attractive. Nothing says a woman's getting older like coiffing her hair short like just about everyone does.

I used to have my hair down to my bottom but it is super curly and thick I was getting exstreme headaches so I had to let it go... Still miss it!

Your hair is Gorgeous! I wish my hair were that long, but it hasn't grown an inch in 7+ years.
How you want to wear your hair is totally up to you. I understand how you feel though. My Grandma has been harassing me about my hair for most of my life. According to her hair should never be longer then shoulder length.....

It's ok I am getting older, it's a side effect of living. And to be completely straight I don't have the time, money or patience to maintain a hairdo. My mom did that for years after hers was cut. It was a never-ending cycle perm, get it set every week, perm. She couldn't even wash it herself because she couldn't replicate what the beautician was doing.

Let it go let them think what they want, I know many ladies old and young who have long hair (I'm one of them I'm 38) my hair is down to my waist and I have no intentions of cutting it just because I'm getting older. I do however wonder why they feel long hair is only for young people
