One of my leghorns is really ba-gawking a lot today! No egg so far, except another from the Sebright today. She's a tiny egg machine...My leghorn is singing the eggs song. But it sounds more like she's yelling the coops on fire and they're all gonna die! She's a drama queen lol

We had a grasshopper festival earlier...I was mowing the lawn and going round and round until there was only a small strip left, which is where all the grasshoppers fled to. So I got off the mower and used a net to scoop up a jar full of them. I took them into the run and let them out! That was my entertainment today...and the chickens' as well. Probably most 66 yr old grandmas don't do this...well who knows, maybe BYC grandmas do, lol, ....anyway it was fun.![]()
No need to catch bugs for them when they are out doing it themselves....lol.If I wasn't scared to death of grasshoppers I'd do that. I let my girls free range and they dig up along the runs and chase the hoppers and any other bug they can get ahold of!
Eggs from April chicks! I wish I could play, mine hatched in February and March and are still freeloaders! Haha, good luck all. I know it will be an eggciting day when it comes!
