i set 12 eggs April 1st for a April 21st hatch... forgot it was a day off so they hatched today here they all are a perfect hatch 9 females and 3 males View attachment 2103228

Has anybody else tried the govee thermometer/hygrometers? It syncs to your phone via Bluetooth so you can monitor temp/humidity in real-time as long as you're within range. My favorite feature so far is that you can set alerts so it will buzz your phone if either the temp or humidity fall outside of the range you set. I think I'm going to start using them in all of my bators.

And yes, you can calibrate them!

I am eagerly and impatiently waiting for hatch day (Friday). I did think I saw an egg wiggling today!!

My 5th silkie hatched today - another blue/grey one! I had to assist - it pipped last night and had started zipping but stopped. I could see the inner membrane pulling away from the shell and getting tighter around the chick. The 6th egg still did not show any signs of movement or sound (and hasn't looked quite right the last couple days when I candled - dark veining with blotchy areas like blood had leaked). I did an eggtopsy and it was fully formed and in the right position...so something must not have developed quite right. Not going to know what to do for the next week with the hatcher empty. Barnyard mix gets set next Tuesday. Debating on buying more silkie eggs. My daughter was really hoping for a black one and would also like a splash. Seller on ebay has "buyer chooses colors" with those 2 as choices. May have to hand turn some eggs for may hatch a long. Lol!

Day 28 has started. Lockdown started day 26. No pips. But I can see shadows in 4 of the eggs air cell. But don't think that they internally pipped yet as it's not so the back of the egg. Hoping I wake up in a few hours to a external pip

I forgot that hatch day is Saturday, I still have an Easter Egger with spray leg in my hatcher, along with a very small partrigde rock that got soaked in the brooder. Later this morning I will remove the splint and if all goes well I will put both of them in the brooder. I have 14/17 made it to lockdown.

Can you share the silkie seller in this thread or pm it to me? I might like to buy some silkie eggs. I’m assuming you’re happy with the way they were packaged and your hatch rate.

I have an internal pip on a deathlayer egg and 2 external pips on my quail.

Hoping that these deathlayer crosses look awesome. I want to keep some for our flock. We just sold all our pullets we hatched months ago so I need to add more in.
