Day 27 for my eggs today. I posted in the general incubation forum about my duck egg because there is still no external pip, I'll paste it here in case anyone has some advice for me. I'm not sure what to do.

I have a runner duck egg in my incubator currently on day 27. This egg was very small (2.2oz). It pipped internally on Monday on day 25. I waited 18 hours and then put a tiny safety hole in the egg. It looks like it's having a hard time either getting through the membrane or getting into position to create the external pip because it still hasn't made one 36 hours hours later.

Do I do anything or just let nature run it's course? Your advice is always appreciated.

***Edit/update

I candled quickly and although it's peeping and hasn't pipped externally, I can see that it has repositioned itself a bit and there are still tons of very active veins in the egg. I will leave it be, up the humidity and let nature run it's course for the next 24 hours.

Yesterday was a busy hatching day, the 2 had hatched the night before, 7 more hatched yesterday. I shuffled all of them out to the brooder as they dried off throughout the day. 3 hatched right before I went to bed so I left them in the incubator to dry off. I woke up to 5 chicks, then 1 more hatched while I was eating breakfast, whew! So 16/19 have hatched so far. The last FBCM chick is on their way out now, no action yet in the last 2 eggs. I did sneak a couple more CL eggs into the incubator a day or so after I started this batch, so these might be those 2 late-comers, lol.
All-in-all I am so pleased with this hatch. The babies look great and I had a great hatch rate!

The next batch of eggs are already on deck, waiting to go in :D
