Trust me. My hens are pets and VERY spoiled. This hen passed from ovarian cancer but not after quite a few $$$ spend at the vet on her health. I LOVE my hens.
I don't eat fast food and stooped into a KFC and paid the clerk $10 cash for a clean bucket and cut out the bottom and slipped it over her head. She wasn't in the bucket for more than 15 seconds.

I was simply trying to get a chuckle out of participating in a Halloween contest. It was that or shopping at a pet store for a costume.

So far nothing. I'm debating on lining the nest boxes with aluminum foil. I mean, if a square of aluminum foil increases broodiness by 48%... Lining it will increase it by like 90%... Right? Maybe they need some little aluminum foil sweaters too.

HA. I would have if it was a dirty bucket.

She never went broody but she would play the role of Auntie to babies. She'd even give up meal worms I'd hand to her and she'd give them to the babies. It was very sweet to watch. She would have been a good mama.
